What We Saw—and Why We Stepped In

Big law isn’t built for bootstrapping founders. The billing is unpredictable, the process feels impersonal, and the services rarely reflect what real business owners actually need. We know—because we’ve worked in that world before we bet on ourselves, just like the women we now have the privilege of serving.

We saw creative, capable entrepreneurs being priced out of legal protection—or worse, trying to DIY their way through decisions that had real consequences for their business. Many were building without legal teams or outside capital, and often while juggling equally demanding roles at home. They couldn’t afford to get it wrong—legally or otherwise.

At Noir IP®, we believe access to strategic, high-quality legal counsel shouldn’t depend on how fast your business is scaling—or whether someone else is funding it. Most of our clients don’t have a legal department. They don’t have a board or a cap table full of investors. What they have is a vision, real traction, and the weight of making every decision count. It’s at that intersection that we meet them—with legal guidance that fits the business and respects the founder behind it.

Our work centers around the legal needs that matter most to women-led businesses:  brand ownership, protection, and the structural clarity required to grow with confidence.

Strategic IP Advisory

From clearance to registration, enforcement to long-term protection, we guide you through the full lifecycle of brand ownership.

For original content, curriculum, media, and digital assets—we help secure rights and reduce risk in how your work is published, licensed, or shared.

We draft and refine contracts that reflect how you do business—clear terms, strong protections, and documents built to support scale.

Our trademark monitoring service is offered as a subscription—
built for clients who want to actively protect their mark after registration. We track USPTO filings, flag potential infringements, and provide early opportunities for enforcement before brand confusion or dilution sets in.

We conduct audits, assess risk, and build brand protection plans that align with your growth and uncover opportunities for monetization.

At Noir IP, we aim to become part of the team. We ask the right questions early, stay engaged beyond the deliverable, and offer legal guidance that’s aligned with your business—not just your paperwork.

Our counsel is specific. Our pricing is fixed. Our role is to help you move forward with clarity—whether you’re negotiating a deal, protecting an idea, or setting a foundation for scale.

~N

Neidy E. Hornsby, Esq. is the trademark attorney behind Noir IP®, a boutique law firm built to serve women entrepreneurs who take their brands—and their ownership—seriously.

With a background in intellectual property and business law, Neidy has worked with hundreds of founders across industries to protect their brands and strengthen the legal foundation of their businesses. Her counsel is informed by practical legal experience and by the realities of building a business of her own.

In many ways, Neidy is the prime example of the firm’s ideal client—an entrepreneur growing a brand that is rooted in purpose and built for real-world impact. She understands firsthand what’s at stake when women create intellectual property, take ownership of their business decisions, and lead with long-term vision.
She’s also a wife and mother of three—and someone who believes entrepreneurship shouldn’t require you to choose between career and life. Neidy founded Noir IP® to create a business that made space for both—and to help other women protect the work that gives them the same freedom.
